The Jenny Lind concert is on Thursday, June 26th at 7:30 p.m. at the Playhouse on the

Green. Tickets are $25 and be purchased at the Barnum Festival Office and include a

reception after the concert.

We currently have received the following information about the 2008 Swedish Jenny Lind

and Swedish pianist:

The 2008 Swedish Jenny Lind is Susanna Stern, She is a student at the University College

of Opera in Stockholm.

The 2008 pianist for the Jenny Lind is Anna Christenson, who just finished her studies in

Stockholm.

In Sweden they have a competition for the pianist as well as the soprano.  

"The piano scholarship has a new name this year!"  It is the Otto Goldschmidt Scholarship.

The Royal Academy has named the piano scholarship after Otto Goldschmidt, who was

"the pianist who followed Jenny Lind most of her tour in the US, and then they married

and lived happily together!"
