Barnum Festival Names
Michael
Niedermeier the 61st
Ringmaster
The Barnum
Festival has named Michael Niedermeier, CPA, MBA,
Managing Principal and President of Nishball, Carp,
Niedermeier, Pacowta & Co., P.C. in Shelton, as its 61st
Ringmaster for 2009. A long-time resident of Trumbull,
he and his wife Cindy have three children, Jaime,
Michael and Allison.
“I am honored to serve as
the 2009 Ringmaster. My wife Cindy and I look forward to
representing the region to promote this spectacular
tribute to P.T. Barnum. We plan to create more
excitement and greater participation throughout the
Greater Bridgeport-Southern Connecticut region. We will
build on the grand legacy previous Ringmasters have
established,” said Niedermeier.
As
Managing Principal
and President of Nishball, Carp, Niedermeier,
Pacowta, he is responsible for the operations and
strategic direction of the firm. In addition, he is the
firm’s Director of Construction/Real Estate Industry
Services. In 2007, Nishball, Carp, Niedermeier, Pacowta
received the prestigious honor of being recognized by
the Bridgeport Regional Business Council as the Business
of the Year.
Niedermeier also oversees
client financing services, acquisition and mergers and
client industry services in construction, real estate
development, manufacturing, high-tech, professional
service and wholesale distribution for the firm. He is a
licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of
Connecticut and Florida.
Active in the Greater
Bridgeport region, Niedermeier serves on many area
boards and has won numerous awards for his many
leadership roles in the community. He currently is on
the Board of Directors of the Bridgeport Regional
Business Council as Secretary Treasurer, a board member
of St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation and the Executive
Board of St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull. Previously, he
served on the board of the United Way of Eastern
Fairfield County for which he received the Community
Builders Award. He is a former President of the Cardinal
Shehan Center in Bridgeport. Niedermeier was a recipient
of the Cardinal Shehan Center's Golden Tee Award and the
St. Joseph Manor Mother Angelina's Award.
In his hometown of Trumbull, Niedermeier is a 12-year,
former Police Commissioner, Trumbull town council
member, and a former Ethics Commissioner for the Town of
Trumbull. He is also a knight of The Order of Malta and
Rhodes.
He belongs to numerous
professional associations, including: the American,
Connecticut and Bridgeport Societies of CPAs Key Person
Committee and Managing Partners Committee, Construction
Financial Management Association (CFMA), Construction
Industry CPAs/Consultant Association (CICPAC), CPA
Manufacturing Services Association (MSA) and Associated
Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC). Mike is a member
of the BKR International Americas Board of Directors.
Niedermeier has been
associated with the international CPA firms of Price
Waterhouse & Co. and KPMG Peat Marwick
(successor to Main Hurdman). He joined Nishball,
Srebnick, Zaluda and Carp, P.C. as an audit manager in
1979 and was admitted as a principal in 1983.
He received his Master of
Business Administration in accounting at Rutgers
University Graduate School of Management and his
Bachelor of Arts in economics at the College of the Holy
Cross.

of Trumbull, Executive Director of the Barnum Festival
and a previous Ringmaster, “We are delighted that Mike
Niedermeier will serve as our 61st Ringmaster. He will
keep the momentum going even stronger in 2009. This past
year the Barnum Festival added some exciting new events
and attracted people from all over the region and state.
Mike’s strong ties in Bridgeport and throughout the
region will be an asset to all of us.”
The
Barnum Festival was created in 1949 to make people feel
good about celebrating the life and times of P.T.
Barnum, who was born on July 5. Nearly 25 annual Barnum
Festival events salute Barnum and the people and events
that made him the greatest showman on earth. The
mega-celebration includes parades, concerts, parties,
drum corps and the fireworks extravaganza at Seaside
